Since the end of 2018, we have been developing a cellulose-based tobacco substitute that is specially optimized for use in shishas. Our goal was clear from the outset: to create a product that is tobacco-free, nicotine-free and yet full of flavor and experience. From start-up to market leadership

Our journey with Smoke Island

It all began at the end of 2018 with an idea that was still visionary at the time: why should vaping in shishas continue to be dominated by tobacco when modern, healthier and more stylish alternatives have long been available? This conviction led us – a group of young, motivated entrepreneurs – to develop the concept for a completely new cellulose-based tobacco substitute. Today, just a few years later, this idea has become a market leader.

During the development process, we quickly recognized the potential of our innovation. Cellulose is tasteless, can be excellently flavored, does not burn and enables a clean, constant vapor experience – ideal for shishas. The positive reactions from our first customers gave us the courage to think bigger. With a great deal of initiative, passion and expertise, we have perfected our recipes, scaled up our production processes and built up a strong distribution network.

2019 was a decisive year for us: we received the utility model for our product and were able to convert this into a full patent in December of the same year. This not only gave us legal protection, but also created a strong foundation for the international expansion of our brand.

Today, we sell our products in 13 countries on four continents – via our own online store, retailers, wholesalers and well-known distribution partners such as REWE, Edeka, Woolworth and numerous kiosks, shisha stores and bars. Our community is growing every day: over 25,000 end customers have already ordered via our online store and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive.

As a German company, we rely on high-quality standards, “Made in Germany” and long-standing, trusting business relationships. Our headquarters in Nuremberg is not only a production site, but also the creative center for our product development, marketing and logistics. We coordinate our global expansion from here – with a team that is passionate about its ideas.
